Janny ready to co-host conferences |

Janny is ready to get more assignments for co-hosting conferences. In this pic she is in action at a seminar about sharing valuable information for the benefit of the port community. She also co-hosted what was called Lijstduwers Debat and much earlier at the Freight Select fair.
Janny has done the trick again at Havencongres 2012 in Rotterdam in the act of roving reporter during the intervals at which she invited delegates to speak their mind on camera.

Rotterdam Port land reclamation more and more in shape
MAASVLAKTE 2 becomes more and more in shape, since Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands has launched the names of the future docks at the port land reclamation. Recently she closed the sea defence officially
The construction of 1,000 hectares of additional docks and terminals started on a sunny, but windy day early September 2008 with what is called 'the first plunge' (of sand) for Maasvlakte 2, after 15 years of discussion and legal procedures.
Janny and Jaap spotted the then recent state of affairs up in the air on returning home from their trip in South Africa in March. The visibility was clear enough to take this picture. All of us in the port community are eager to see the port land reclamation completed. The end is near. The first terminals are expected to be operational in 2013.

Man of the Port 2008 |
Those involved in the Harbour Press Club Kyoto have appointed CEO Ben Vree of SMIT (Internationale) as Man of the Port 2008. Today, he coaches the Jong Haventalent (young promising person within the port area) Rik Pek who works at the Rotterdam-based Broekman Group. In a way Jong Haventalent is a mirror award of the Men of the Port award. The jury focuses on young people who may step in the shoes of older port entrepreneurs at some point.
